It’s been 3 years since Laurie Strode killed Michael Myers on Halloween … or so we thought. Myers switched places with a paramedic and instead of killing her brother, Laurie killed an innocent man. Since that night, She has been locked away and hasn’t spoken a word since. The staff believes her to be withdrawn, but Laurie knows Michael will return one last time to finish what he started.
Back in Haddonfield, Freddie Harris, an ambitious entrepreneur, is ready to make money with his new “reality” Internet event. He’s recruited six local college students to take part in his webcast in the childhood home of Michael Myers.
As Halloween night arrives the group prepares to enter the home unaware that Michael has returned and is waiting for them. The cameras are on and the broadcast is live as the group sets out to explore the secrets of the Myers house. What could go wrong?
A picture of John Strode (Josh Hartnett), can be seen on the wall above Laurie’s bed in the sanitarium.
Jamie Lee wanted to play the part of Laurie Strode differently. She wanted to take it to a much darker place and show how the effects of killing the wrong person had taken its toll on Laurie.
Director Rick Rosenthal also directed the first Halloween sequel in 1981 Halloween II (1981), he is also married to Nancy Stevens, the actress that played Marion in the earlier Halloween films.
The premise for Michael returning for this film was agreed to by everyone involved with the film prior to shooting H20. Curtis insisted that there could be no hints that it wasn’t Michael being killed at the end and Laurie would believe that she killed him.
Goof: When the crew is loading in their gear behind the Myers House, a green SUV passes by and the reflection of the warehouse stage set is visible in the windows.
Goof: As Willie is approaching the laundry area, the swinging light (in the windows reflection) is slowing down. You can see a crew member’s grab the light and and push it to get it swinging again.
Goof: As Michael is walking towards Laurie’s room the camera switches to his POV & he stops to bang the door four times. When it switches back to inside Laurie’s room you can see he is still moving towards the door and he breaks thru it.
Continuity: As Sara climbs out of the bedroom window, Michael slices the bottom of her leg. But when she climbs up the roof there are no visible wounds.
Laurie Strode: I knew you’d come for me sooner or later. What took you so long?
Jim: She must be going for the first Internet Emmy.
Aron: Don’t do it. That’s the house where it all started. He walked it’s hallways. Hide in it’s closets. Dreamed in it’s bedrooms. Helped his Mother in the kitchen. Watched TV in the living room with his Dad. Played in his Sisters bedroom. Then one day he picked up a knife and he never put it down again.
Laurie Strode: You failed, Michael. Want to know why? Because I’m not afraid of you. But what about you? Are you afraid of me? Are you afraid to die, Michael?
