Halloween 2 Interview – Tyler Mane

HALLOWEEN II CAST & CREW

From: Dawn
Q. Who would win in a fight you or Jason?

Tyler Mane: What the hell do you THINK I’m gonna to say to that. Next question!

From: Matt
Q. How does it feel to be the first person to play Michael Myers back to back in 2 films?

Tyler Mane: Actually, I’m the first person to play him FULLY twice, but Wilbur did the stunts in 4 and 6 so TECHNICALLY he was the first to be in two movies. I’ve got to be careful because the fans have all these stats in their heads and it keeps me on my toes. It’s great to be back working with everyone that was on #1. It’s a tightly-knit family and I’m having a great time. It’s exciting to explore the character of Michael Myers again and try to figure out even more what’s going on in the head of a serial killer. And it’s always fu n to work with Rob and see what gruesome stuff comes out of that brain of his.

From: Robin Herman
Q. Would you come back and play Myers again if there were a sequel to this film?

Tyler Mane: A. Depends on the script. If he’s going into space, I ain’t goin’. I ain’t takin’ that trip. LOL

From: Myersfan08
Q. What’s it like to work with Rob Zombie?

Tyler Mane: Awesome. It’s definitely an adventure! It’s not my first rodeo with the boy but he STILL surprises me.

From: Frank Lassiter
Q. Is there anything you do to prepare yourself before each scene to play the shape?

Tyler Mane: Michael Myers is so much more than just a Shape. And to create something more than a cardboard cutout and give some depth to the character you have to know your moment before, what’s happened in the entire script before this moment in time, what your intention is in the scene, where the camera is, what your mark is, where your light is and then add doing stunts and safety precautions on top of trying to be emotionally in the moment. It’s intense. At least extensive dialogue is not a problem for me in this film.

From: Greg
Q. In your opinion, What is the hardest part of playing Michael Myers?

Tyler Mane: To show his expression just through body language and without words.

From: Sal
Q. How does is feel to have a big!!!! beard when wearing the mask?

Tyler Mane: It actually helped fill out the mask so when I turn my head the mask moves with me. Before it was so big, my head would turn and the mask would stay straight. Plus it helps keep the latex off my skin so it’s way more comfortable. I knew this damn thing would come in handy somehow. Plus it looks badass.

From: Brad G.
Q. I loved how you played the character Michael Myers, I thought you made him scary in the first film, what can we expect from the character the 2nd time around without spoiling the movie?

Tyler Mane: Without spoiling the movie? Let’s just say Michael Myers kicks it up a notch and if you cross his path you’re gonna die.

From: Kaitlin
Q. I think you were just amazing Halloween. I heard that in the audio commentary of the Halloween DVD, you got upset when a stunt double had to come in for the part when Loomis shoots Michael in the back. Will Mr. Rob Zombie let you do all of your own stunts this time?

Tyler Mane: I’m doin’ ‘em all. I just draw the line at falling off of buildings.

From: James Rowe
Q. I thought you did a good job as Michael in the 1st movie and wish you the best of luck in H2. My question is which acting role do you like better H1 or H2? Why?

Tyler Mane: Thank you for the good wishes. This one, by far. I can’t really talk about anything, I don’t want to give any spoilers or even give people any fodder to read into so I’m just going to end it there and tell you to wait until August 28th, at which point you can ask me again.
