Charles Cyphers – Sheriff of Haddonfield, at your service. Sheriff Brackett was the father of Annie and big brother of Haddonfield. Like Nancy Loomis, Charles was first “discovered” by John Carpenter when he also starred in his low budget action flick, Assault on Precinct 13. Carpenter, who liked his style in his past movie, brought him aboard to play the Sheriff of the small mid-western town. Since then, he too has gone on to star in more Carpenter movies – 4 more to be exact. He worked with Carpenter in the made for TV movie Elvis, The Fog (which teamed him up again with his Assault on Precinct 13 and Halloween co-star, Nancy Loomis), Halloween II, and Escape From New York.
Cyphers has always played dominating characters because of the presence he brings to the screen. You have probably seen him in Major League as Charlie or even in his TV show called “Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher.” Over the years, Cyphers has had guest starring roles in ER, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Cannon, The Six Million Dollar Man and more. Charles has appeared in many independent films over past few years and can be seen appearing at horror conventions around the world.
