Janet Leigh, to horror fans, is best known as Marion Crane from Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho. The infamous shower scene is regarded as one of the most terrifying in film. H20 Director Steve Minor payed homage to her character in Halloween H20 by using a replica of the car she drove in Psycho.
During her (almost 60year) career in Hollywood, her films ranged from comedies to westerns to musicals to dramas as well as appearing on many hit TV shows of the time. She could do it all. Including give to birth to Halloween star Jamie Lee Curtis with Hollywood legend Tony Curtis.
Halloween H20 was the third time Janet and Jamie would work together. After Halloween, Jamie and her mother appeared on an episode of The Love Boat before John Carpenter cast them both for his supernatural Ghost story, The Fog in 1980.
Sadly, Janet passed away at the age of 77 in her home in Beverly Hills, California on October 3, 2004.
