DELETED SCENES
Since Halloween Resurrection was released on DVD, almost every deleted scenes/alternate ending has been available for fans to see the various ways the film was going to end. The only exception is the opening that features the Myers family barbecue. That footage hasn’t been available on any official Halloween Resurrection release.
- There is a deleted scene with Freddie, Nora and one of Freddie’s guys in the garage at the back of the Myers house that shows the video setup of Dangertainment.
- There is more footage of the contestant winners being interviewed by Nora. Most of it didn’t fit the pacing of the scene and was cut down to what you see in the film now. The only one that was left intact was Jim’s interview. The scene continues with Freddie speaking to Nora and is complaining that these kids are not right for the broadcast while Nora assures him they will be great.
- There was a scene with Sara and Jen in their hotel room the night before the event. Sara wants to quit and Jen convinces her to stay. It was cut as there wasn’t enough time for the scene to work.
- Another deleted scene shows Michael pulling up in front of his house in the red car and as the camera zooms in on the Myers house, Michael activates the car alarm. It was cut from the film because the scene with Myers stealing the car was scrapped. Rosenthal liked this scene as it showed Michael returning home.
- There was a longer version of Sara in the closet. Rudy discovers a photo album with Michael Myers as a young boy. The scene was cut, like the opening Super 8 footage because it humanized Michael too much.
- At the end of the film there was a scene with Freddie and Sara (after they burn up Michael) that was cut simply because it was dialogue that Freddie had already said earlier in the film and wasn’t necessary to the plot.
ALTERNATE ENDINGS
- Instead of Freddie rescuing Sara from the fire, he’s assumed to be dead. Decker comes in to save Sara.
- After Freddie grabs the camera, we see firefighters putting out the fire while the “Haunted House” theme is playing. Haddonfield CSI arrives at the scene and walks by a policeman (played by Brad Loree). The investigator finds the manhole opening where Myers was living the past 20 years and as she gets closer, Michael jumps up and grabs her.
- Part of this alternate ending was still used in the film. When Freddie and Sara see Michael in the body bag, Sara asks to see his face. The fireman warns them that “it’s not a pretty sight” and then opens the bag. In the theatrical version, it cuts away and we only see Freddie and Sara’s reaction. In this version, we see Myers and the mask melted on his head and his eyes are closed. As Freddie says that he’s “lookin’ a little crispy”, Michael’s eyes open and he grabs Freddie. Sara grabs and ax from the fire truck and slams it into Michael’s head.
