LOS ANGELES, CA (July 30, 2018) – Los Angeles, California-based production company and holder of the rights to the Halloween film series Trancas International Films is proud to announce their appointment of long-time horror journalist and author Sean Decker as editor-in-chief of HalloweenMovies.com, the official website of their iconic IP.
Sean Decker
Decker, who as a current writer at the respected and long-running horror outlet Dread Central and former writer at genre mastheads Universal Studios’ Horror Online and Fangoria Magazine, brings to the table over twenty years of experience within the horror genre, as well as producing and writing credits within it.
“I’m beyond humbled and very excited to assist Malek Akkad and the entire Trancas team in continuing to deliver compelling content for HalloweenMovies.com,” Decker said of his appointment to the position. “Beginning in the late 1990s, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to work in the genre I’ve loved since I was a boy. And that love started in 1978 when I saw a film that shook me to the core, and quite literally set my career path. That film was Halloween, and I look forward to bringing that enthusiasm and experience to HalloweenMovies.com, the web’s #1 destination for all things Michael Myers.”
Malek Akkad, founder and CEO of Trancas International, said, “Given Sean’s knowledge and deep passion for the franchise and the horror space as whole, it seems a great fit.”
Added Trancas Films Social Media and Digital Coordinator Brian Rayman, “I’m very excited to be working with Sean. His extensive background with horror and Halloween are a huge asset to the team, and I look forward to the expansive content and coverage he’s got planned for HalloweenMovies.”
Trancas’ next feature film, director and co-writer David Gordon Green’s hotly-anticipated Halloween, hits theaters October 19, 2018 via Universal Studios. Trancas’ Akkad, Blumhouse’s Jason Blum and Bill Block produce, with co-writer Danny McBride, Green and star Jamie Lee Curtis serving as executive producers, along with Ryan Freimann and series originator John Carpenter, who also serves as the film’s composer. In the reimagining, series star Curtis returns to her role of embattled final girl Laurie Strode, as does Nick Castle to his role of Michael Myers. They are joined by Judy Greer as Karen Strode, Laurie’s daughter, and Andi Matichak as Allyson Strode, Laurie’s granddaughter.
